Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School gets up close with SMSR
Year 7 pupils from Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School were both challenged and challenging when they took part in a morning of workshops specially created by SMSR for their year group. As well as learning about spinal cord injury, the groups discussed issues surrounding disability and inclusion and our team were impressed and delighted by the pupils’ insightful questions and enthusiasm for the topics.
The groups learnt about the importance of research, and even had the opportunity to try on our SEM Glove to see first hand how technology can aid everyday life for people with limited hand function.
SMSR’s Dr Julian Taylor, Ali Gibson and Patricia Tweed found it incredibly rewarding and look forward to working with the school next year.
